Carol Hack Nay

Carol Hack Nay April 1, 1937 - January 26, 2014 Carol Hack Nay, 76, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. She passed away at Southlake Nursing and Rehab in Jacksonville, FL. Carol was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. Carol attended Seton Hall University. She lived in Orlando for many years and relocated to Wilbur by the Sea, FL in 1986. Carol made her permanent home in Ormond Beach in 1998. Carol was a devout Catholic. She belonged to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Orlando, as well as attending Mass in South Daytona and Ormond Beach. Carol also attended Mass at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach, FL. Above all things, Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by her family. Carol is survived by husband, Tom E. Nay of Ormond Beach; daughter, Laurie Mahnken John of Jacksonville; sons, David Mahnken, and wife, Jennifer, of Jacksonville, Stephen Mahnken, and wife, Narissa, of Toronto, Canada. Carol is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Reading, and husband, Ed, of New Jersey; grandchildren, Cindy, Jeremy, Sara, Kellie, Nasruk, Pauline, Lorena, Joe and Tom; and many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mayport Road, Atlantic Beach, FL. Father Mark Waters will officiate.
