B Marsue Dorn

B. Marsue Dorn born April 21, 1944 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, passed on to be with the Lord, and her family in heaven, on February 27, 2022. She passed peacefully in her home in Elkton, Florida, surrounded by people who love her. For those who knew and loved her, she was a very special, kind, loving, and giving woman. She attended Duncan U Fletcher school in Jacksonville Beach. She worked for local banks for many years then went on to retire from the Internal Revenue Service and often traveled to Washington DC. During and after her employment with the IRS, she was a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem working to give kids in dire straits a voice. When she moved to Cherry Log Georgia in her retirement, she was an active member and volunteer for Cherry Log Christian Church and the Craddock Center. She was always an advocate for all animals and wildlife and supported different agencies. As a loving wife of a police officer and veteran, she had an unwavering love for her country and veterans so much that you if you were to spend time with her, you would witness her buying a veteran a meal or helping someone in some way. She is survived by her husband, retired Lieutenant of the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, Roy Dorn, and they were together for 58 years. She is also survived by her 2 children, Angela "Angie" Dorn Moss of Ponte Vedra Beach, Business Analyst for American Family Insurance, and Roy "Butch" Dorn of Jacksonville, North Carolina, retired marine and retired law enforcement officer. The apples of her eye were her grandchildren Taji Moss, Mike Dorn, William Davis, Kelsey Augustine. She loved them more than life itself. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Aliff and brothers Ralph Earle Lay Jr and Robert "Bob" Lay and much extended family such as nieces, nephews, and her grandchildren's children. We will not be holding a funeral but instead have opted for a small intimate family celebration of life at H. Warren Smith Cemetery of Jacksonville Beach, where she will be laid to rest with her parents Ralph Earle Lay Sr and Katheryn Elizabeth Lay. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local animal charities or veteran's charities is welcomed.
