Adolfo Maciel Sepulveda August 10, 1930 - March 1, 2018 Adolfo Maciel Sepulveda Jr (Tito), 87, passed away on March 1, 2018 in St. Augustine, Florida surrounded by family, friends and Father Joseph of the Cathedral Basilica. Adolfo loved life, nature, good friends, family, and most importantly of all, he loved God, our Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and Jesus Christ Our Savior. Adolfo was born on August 10, 1930 in McAllen, Texas. He honorably served in the United Stated Marine Corps during the Korean War, serving in China, Korea, Guam, and abroad on the USS General Anderson and the USS Cavalier. Afterwards he served in the Texas National Guard, then went on to work for the Federal Government where he served with the Corpus Christi Army Depot, Department of Defense, and Department of the Army for 28 years. He received numerous awards while working for the Federal Government and humbly kept them close. Adolfo leaves behind several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews in Texas including Hector Saldana (Olga)- (Christian, Daniel, Alexa,Natalia), David Saldana (Patti) – (Bianca and Vanessa), Tim Saldana ( Alicia), Robert Saldana, Efrain Contreras, Arturo Contrera, twins, Debra and Linda Contreras, Richard Contreras (Yolanda)-(Ricky and Darlene), Javier Contreras, Charles Marin and Elizabeth Marin. The family would like to thank all the family and friends who helped care for Adolfo during his difficult times. In particular, we would like to thank Father Joseph and all the staff and parishioners of the Cathedral Basilica in St. Augustine for their help throughout the past 4 and a half years. Thanks also goes to the Florida National Guard, the State of Florida D.M.A employees for their amazing compassion, all the First Responders in St. Augustine, and the Florida Highway Patrol for their untiring help in our time of need during both Hurricanes Irma and Matthew. We wouldn’t have made it without your help. We are eternally grateful for your Amazing Service to God and our incredible Country. A funeral mass was celebrated at the Cathedral Basilica in St. Augustine on March 3, 2018 with Father Joseph saying the mass, the Fox family twins serving as Alter Boys, and pallbearers Col Robert Niesen, MAJ Adam Bailey, Mark Kramer, Mike Sepulveda, Trey Asner, Ken Walls, with Honorary pallbearers MAJ Terrance Gorman, LTC Terri Travis, Karen Gilbert and John Danahy. A Memorial and Viewing / Visitation will be held at St. Johns Funeral Home in St. Augustine, Florida from 10am through 11am on Monday March 5, 2018. A rosary will be held at Seaside Memorial Funeral Home (time pending) in Corpus Christi, Texas on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 with burial on Thursday (time pending) at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors and his children and family serving as pallbearers.
