Vincent Anthony LoPresti Jr.

Vincent Anthony LoPresti Jr., 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law and friend passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2023 in St. Augustine, FL at Flagler Hospital after a yearlong illness. By his side surrounding him with love, was his wife, Angie and their 4 daughters. Vincent was born in Birmingham, AL on April 20, 1944, to Vincent Anthony LoPresti and Catherine Louise McAnally LoPresti. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1964. He attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and The University of South Alabama where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Vincent enjoyed his career as a Project Management Professional where he excelled in managing major projects for Scott Paper, Hunt Refinery and Georgia Pacific with many other meaningful positions such as Southern Company Services in Birmingham, AL During his college years he joined the Alabama National Guard. Vincent proudly gave 31 years of service to the Alabama National Guard and Army Reserve. He flew several types of helicopters, including the Sky Crane and Loach and retired as a Lt. Colonel. Vincent was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Birmingham, AL and Christ the King Church in Daphne, AL. At Christ the King Church, where his daughters attended school, he happily coached Catholic Youth Organization Sports (CYO). Of the various organizations and clubs, Vincent served as President of the Italian American Cultural Society South Alabama, Entertainment Chairman of Fairhope Yacht Club, Commodore of Fairhope Yacht Club, Toastmasters and the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, Inc. (TAPPI)., As well as being a board member of Spanish Trace Condominiums in St. Augustine, FL. Hobby’s Vincent had over the years were golf, photography, church league softball, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, plunking away at the banjo, sailing and Bocce. He became a connoisseur of wine and attended the International Wine Guild in Denver, CO and earned a level 2 degree Wine Sommelier. Vincent is survived by the love of his life, Angela (Angie) Bacon LoPresti of 39 years, four daughters, Hanna Dodd Miller (Craig) of Fairhope, AL; Joanna LoPresti Keel (Larry) of Pell City, AL; Catherine (Katie) Dodd of St. Augustine, FL; Mary Angela LoPresti-Smith (Justin) of Birmingham, AL. He was Papi to four beautiful grandchildren, Grace & Miles Miller of Fairhope, AL; Reese & Nora Keel of Pell City, AL. His brother, Guy Charles LoPresti of Birmingham, AL, nephews Tom and Brett LoPresti and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members in Birmingham, AL as well as Florida. Private services will be held in St. Augustine, FL and Fairhope, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
