Idelle J. Rodriguez

Idelle Jazmine (Velez) Rodriguez was born May 20th, 1971 in Bronx, NY and was raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. God called her home on July 15th, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. Idelle held two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. She held the title of Budget Supervisor for St. Johns County Public School Board. A job she loved more than any of us could ever understand. Her hobbies include, but are certainly not limited to, Zumba, music & dancing salsa & bachata, arts & crafts, learning new things, and anything and everything you can think of. She enjoyed being at the beach, at any hiking trail, and she loved sunflower fields. Idelle’s favorite flowers were sunflowers. The family asks that if you would like to send sunflower arrangements, please contact one of the local St Augustine florists to pace your order. Idelle would travel whenever she possibly could even if it was a simple day trip to Disney Springs. Family trips were a MUST for her where she took endless photos. Her passions were her family and her friends. Idelle made everyone feel like they were the center of the world. Her love, her smile, and her energy were infectious. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Fernando Rodriguez and her two children Alejandro Rodriguez, Ayshka Rodriguez-Castro, and her son-in-law Jonathan Castro. Her mother Carmen Margarita Martinez, her siblings Ilka Suda (husband Anthony Suda), Ingrid Rodriguez (husband Dennis Rodrigues), Ixia Helmueller (husband Matt Helmueller) and Ivan Velez (wife Rosy Santillan). Her nephews and nieces Anthony John Suda, Dylan Suda, Alia Cardona and Naia Cardona. She was a great friend to many and a loving mother to those who needed one. She is preceded in death by her father Roberto Velez Colon, her cousin Lydia Sanchez, and her paternal grandparents Confessor y Maria Velez and her maternal grandparents Angel y Lydia Martinez. She left this Earth too soon, but we will honor her by living our best lives the way that she did. Smiling. Living. Laughing. Loving. Each and everyone.
